Navigator Partner Policy

Terms governing independent delivery and logistics partners on the Dropoint platform. Read alongside the Terms of Service and the Navigator Partner Agreement.

Introduction

Dropoint (“Dropoint”, “the Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a technology platform that connects Stores, Customers, and independent delivery partners (“Navigators”) to facilitate the pickup, transport, and delivery of parcels and errands within Nairobi and other regions of operation in Kenya (the “Platform”).

This Navigator Partner Policy (“Policy”) sets out the requirements, standards of conduct, and terms that govern the relationship between Dropoint and any individual or entity that registers to provide delivery, courier, errand, or moving services through the Platform (each, a “Navigator”).

This Policy should be read together with the Dropoint Navigator Partner Agreement, the Dropoint Terms of Service, and the Dropoint Privacy Policy. By registering as a Navigator, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy.

Definitions

“Navigator” means an independent contractor registered on the Platform to perform pickup, delivery, errand, or moving services.

“Store” means a merchant or business that lists products or requests deliveries through the Platform.

“Customer” means the end user who requests or receives goods via the Platform.

“Assignment” or “Job” means a specific delivery, errand, or moving task offered to a Navigator through the Platform.

“Navigator Category” means one of the five service modes described in Section 3.

“Platform” means the Dropoint website, mobile application, and related services.

Navigator categories

Dropoint onboards Navigators under five categories, based on the mode of transport used to fulfil Assignments. A Navigator may register under more than one category, provided the eligibility and document requirements for each are met.

Required documents

All Navigators, regardless of category, must provide the general documents listed below at the point of registration. Categories that involve a motor vehicle carry additional, category-specific requirements. Dropoint reserves the right to request further documentation where reasonably necessary for safety, compliance, or fraud-prevention purposes.

General documents, all categories

National ID card, or a valid passport / alien ID card for non-citizens (front and back).

A recent, clear, front-facing passport-size photo.

Notes on category-specific documents:

Motorcycle: the driving licence must be of the motorcycle class currently prescribed by NTSA. Where the Navigator is not the registered owner of the motorcycle, a signed letter of authorisation from the owner is required in place of the logbook. Registration under a recognised Sacco or transport company is required where applicable under county Boda Boda regulations.

Car and Movers Service: motor insurance must, at minimum, cover third-party liability; comprehensive cover with goods-in-transit protection is strongly recommended and may be made mandatory for higher-value Assignments.

Movers Service: where the Navigator operates as a registered company or Sacco rather than as an individual, Dropoint additionally requires the Certificate of Incorporation or Business Registration, a current CR12 (or equivalent extract), and a valid county government business permit.

Bicycle: a photo of the bicycle is requested for identification purposes; formal ownership documents are not required given the nature of the asset.

Document verification, validity, and renewal

All documents are subject to verification by Dropoint before a Navigator account is activated.

Navigators are responsible for uploading current, unexpired documents, and for promptly updating them upon renewal, expiry, or change (for example, a new insurance certificate or driving licence).

The Platform will send automated reminders ahead of the expiry of time-bound documents, such as insurance and driving licences.

Accounts with expired mandatory documents will be automatically suspended from receiving Assignments until valid, updated documents are submitted and verified.

Dropoint reserves the right to periodically re-verify documents, request updated copies, and conduct spot checks, including in-person verification where necessary.

Data protection and privacy

Dropoint processes Navigator personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2019 (Kenya) and its subsidiary regulations.

Purpose: personal data is collected and processed for identity verification, safety and fraud prevention, payments, regulatory compliance, and service improvement.

By submitting documents and personal information, Navigators consent to Dropoint processing this data for the purposes described above, including verification against relevant government or third-party databases where applicable.

Data is retained for the duration of the Navigator's partnership with Dropoint and for a reasonable period thereafter, as required for legal, tax, or regulatory purposes.

Navigators have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data, subject to Dropoint's statutory retention obligations, as set out in the Dropoint Privacy Policy.

Full details of Dropoint's data handling practices are set out in the Dropoint Privacy Policy, published on the website and app.

Nature of the relationship

Navigators are independent contractors and business partners of Dropoint, not employees, agents, or workers of the Company.

Navigators determine their own working hours and may accept or decline Assignments, subject to the performance standards described in Section 12.

Navigators are responsible for their own tax obligations and any applicable statutory contributions, including NSSF and SHA (Social Health Authority) contributions where required by law.

Code of conduct

All Navigators are expected to observe the following standards while active on the Platform:

Handle all parcels and goods with care; do not open, tamper with, or inspect sealed parcels.

Maintain the confidentiality of Customer and Store information, and use contact details only for the purpose of completing the Assignment.

Do not solicit or accept payment outside the Platform for Assignments booked through Dropoint.

Do not share Navigator account credentials or subcontract Assignments to unregistered third parties.

Comply with all applicable traffic laws, NTSA regulations, and county Boda Boda regulations.

Wear required safety gear, helmet and reflective jacket at all times while on an Assignment, where applicable to the category.

Do not carry illegal, prohibited, or hazardous goods, including firearms, drugs, or counterfeit items.

Treat Customers, Store staff, and members of the public with courtesy and professionalism at all times.

Select the Navigator category or categories under which you wish to operate.

Complete the registration form with accurate personal details.

Upload the required documents for your selected category, as set out in Section 5.

Await verification of your documents and details by the Dropoint onboarding team.

Complete Dropoint's orientation and safety briefing.

Upon successful verification, your account is activated and you become eligible to receive Assignments.

Insurance and liability

Navigators are responsible for maintaining valid insurance appropriate to their category and vehicle, as set out in Section 5.

Dropoint does not provide personal accident, health, or comprehensive vehicle insurance to Navigators, unless expressly stated under a separate benefits programme communicated by Dropoint.

Liability for the loss of, or damage to, parcels while in a Navigator's custody is addressed in the Navigator Partner Agreement and the applicable Terms of Service.

Navigators in the Car and Movers Service categories are strongly encouraged to maintain goods-in-transit cover, given the higher value and volume of goods typically handled.

Performance standards

Dropoint tracks Assignment acceptance rate, on-time delivery rate, and Customer and Store ratings for each Navigator. Consistent poor performance may result in reduced Assignment offers, a requirement to complete additional training, or suspension in accordance with Section 13.

Suspension and termination

Dropoint may suspend or terminate a Navigator's account where any of the following occur, including but not limited to:

Expired or invalid mandatory documents that are not renewed within the notice period given.

Falsified documents or identity fraud.

Criminal conduct, violence, or harassment directed at Customers, Store staff, or members of the public.

Theft of, tampering with, or repeated loss of parcels.

Repeated safety violations or failure to use required safety gear.

Operating outside the terms of this Policy or the Navigator Partner Agreement.

Where practicable, Dropoint will provide notice of the grounds for suspension and an opportunity for the Navigator to respond before a final decision is made. Immediate suspension without prior notice may apply in cases involving safety, fraud, or criminal conduct.

Grievances and dispute resolution

Navigators may raise a grievance through the support channel in the Dropoint app, or by emailing info@dropoint.co.ke.

Dropoint will acknowledge all grievances promptly and aim to resolve them within a reasonable timeframe.

Unresolved disputes may be referred to mediation and, where necessary, to arbitration or the courts of Kenya, in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions of the Navigator Partner Agreement.

Health and safety

Navigators must comply with all applicable road safety laws and wear required personal protective equipment while on an Assignment.

Navigators must not operate while fatigued, unwell, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

All road accidents must be reported to Dropoint promptly and, where required by law, to the Police and/or NTSA.

Amendments to this Policy

Dropoint may amend this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law, its operations, or industry practice. Material changes will be communicated via the app and website with reasonable notice. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the amended Policy.

Governing law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Subject to Section 14, disputes arising from this Policy are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
